Meet Dr. D’Apolito
David J. D’Apolito, D.M.D.
Dr. David D’Apolito received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) with Honors from UMDNJ/New Jersey Dental School, where he graduated in the top 10% of his class. Prior to this, he was a Registered Pharmacist, having also graduated with Honors from Northeastern University, College of Pharmacy. He received a Certificate in Hospital Pharmacy from the National Institutes of Health where he also was an officer in the US Public Health Service serving as a Clinical Pharmacist at our Nation’s top research hospital. He was elected to the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society and the Rho Chi Pharmacy Honor Society.
Additionally, Dr. Dave has a Postgraduate Certificate in the Diagnosis and Management of Orofacial Pain and TMJ Dysfunction from UMDNJ and has received such awards as the American College of Stomatologic Surgeon’s Award and the Italian Dental Society of New York Scholarship Award. He has advanced training and special interest in Reconstructive Dentistry and has a trademark for “Tooth or Consequences”, the dental informative newsletter he publishes.
In his spare time Dr. D’Apolito enjoys sporting events such as football, soccer, basketball, baseball and hockey. His favorite professional teams are the Buffalo Bills, NY Red Bulls, NY Knicks, NY Yankees and NY Rangers. His favorite college basketball and football teams are the Syracuse Orange. He also loves swimming and snorkeling in the Caribbean Islands and participates in multiple fantasy sports leagues. He has a Black Belt in Taekwando and has also trained in other martial arts such as Hapkido and Shotokon. He currently works out regularly and walks anywhere from 20 to 45 miles per week as part of his exercise program.
Dr. D’Apolito has been a lifelong resident of the Woodbridge area. The office is about one mile each way from where he grew up in Port Reading to where he graduated from Woodbridge Senior High School. He has been committed to this area his whole life and he has been in practice over 34 years. He treats his patients not just as patients, but on an individual, personal level that all can relate to.
His favorite and most exciting professional experience was a TV news special filmed at his office with Art McFarland of ABC’s Eyewitness News. Eyewitness News’s Roz Abrams said during the TV commentary: ”The dentist of your dreams”, “You’ve got to see it to believe it”, “How going to the dentist can bring you to another world”.
